coreboot v0.9.4 for the Vault V1000 Series

coreboot v0.9.4 is now available for the Vault V1000 Series (V1210, V1211, V1410, and V1610), bringing a collection of features and fixes to give you more control and capabilities!

Intel ME

  • We’ve added Intel ME toggle options directly in the firmware menu where you can choose between Enabled, Soft disabled, or HAP disabled.

Network Interface Naming

  • Network interface naming is changing from ‘eno’ to ‘enp’ on Linux systems. You may need to reconfigure your network interfaces in your OS after updating.

Power Management

  • You can now adjust CPU throttling with offset settings from 0 to 63.
  • We’ve added power state configuration, so you can decide what happens when your Vault loses power: power on, power off, or return to the last known power state.

Fixes

  • ACPI Serial Fix: We’ve resolved the issue with the newer version of OPNsense where the serial configuration had to be set back to ISA. Read more on our KB article.
  • efibootmgr Fix: For FreeBSD users, those efibootmgr errors that would pop up are now fixed.
  • S3 Suspend Fix: The suspend functionality is fixed on the V1000 Series.
(Note: the power button stays on while the V1000 Series enters S3 suspend.)

Expanded M.2 M-Key Connectivity

  • The V1210, V1211, and V1610, now utilize two PCIe lanes on the M.2 M-Key slot. Typically used for NVMe drives.
  • The V1000 Series now supports SATA on the M.2 M-Key slot.
