Description
Note: The Protectli TPM is currently only compatible with our VP2410 and VP4600 series models. If the TPM is selected as an add-on we will make the necessary modification for installation. For post purchase installations please see our TPM knowledge base article here (link). Due to the nature of a TPM as a security device, the module cannot be returned for a refund.
The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a dedicated, secure microcontroller used for cryptographic operations. A TPM is used to generate, store, and manage cryptographic keys. A TPM can be used to authenticate the platform and firmware (BIOS) to guarantee the integrity of the device. TPM technology is becoming more popular as a mechanism to guarantee device integrity. As an example, Windows 11 requires a TPM 2.0 in order to install the OS.
The Protectli TPM is the Infineon SLB 9660TT upgraded to TPM 2.0.
