Description
The Vault Pro VP2430: Compact, Powerful, and Efficient
The Vault Pro VP2430 is a fanless, OS-agnostic mini PC designed for firewalls, routers, VPNs, virtualization, homelabs, and professional environments. As the latest addition to the Vault Pro series, it builds on the success of the VP2410 and VP2420, offering enhanced performance, improved thermal management, and expanded networking capabilities.
Powered by an Intel® N150 Quad-Core CPU, the VP2430 is equipped with 4x 2.5GbE network ports and supports WiFi 6E cards, 4G/5G modems, NVMe SSDs, and up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM*, providing exceptional speed and efficiency for demanding workloads. The onboard 32GB eMMC module offers flexibility for lightweight OS installations or extra storage, while the VP2430’s onboard headers enable the ability to support use cases that require GPS, time synchronization, or other sensors.
The fully aluminum chassis acts as a passive heatsink for silent operation and durability, even in less-than-ideal environments. A modular heatsink and finned-aluminum bottom plate maximize heat dissipation while internal heatsinks cool NVMe SSDs, RAM, WiFi cards, and modems, reducing temperatures of installed components upwards of ~30% under heavy usage. The modular heatsink design also allows for easy removal of the large component heatsink to accommodate a 2.5″ SATA SSD for additional storage.
For full technical details, including pin layouts, please refer to the VP2430 Hardware Overview.
*Intel® Specsheets claim the N150 CPU officially supports up to 16GB of RAM, but we have successfully tested and qualified multiple modules above that capacity. Information on modules we have successfully tested can be found here.
Optimized for OS and Component Compatibility
The VP2430 is thoroughly tested and qualified with a variety of operating systems and components to ensure optimal compatibility. For a list of tested OSs and components, please refer to this link.
Security at the Core with Custom coreboot Firmware
Designed with security in mind, the VP2430 runs on Protectli’s custom coreboot firmware, an open-source alternative to proprietary BIOS solutions. This purpose-built firmware enhances security, performance, and system reliability, ensuring a trustworthy platform. More information on coreboot can be found here.
